In Florida, two people were arrested after one of them called 911 for help removing their belongings from their stolen home, authorities said.
Polk County officials went to a home Saturday after 911 calls went unanswered.
Police concluded that no one lived there, but entered through an unlocked door to find a male suspect and his girlfriend inside.
The woman told officers she had called 911 and asked them to help remove the property from the house they had stolen.
She also called to ask if she could get a ride to the airport for the weekend in New York, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.
In a Facebook post, the office said: “Deputies did help them get their belongings and did give them a lift, but not to the airport … but to Polk Pokey.
“And they’re welcome to stay there all weekend. Polk Pokey is way better than New York anyway.”
The sheriff’s office said officers identified the male suspect from security video as the burglar at the Dollar General store in Poinciana, 35 miles south of Orlando, where several items were stolen earlier in the day Find the male suspect.
The man has been charged with shop-related burglary and theft, and burglary.
The woman was charged with burglary.
